As we deal with language characters, digits and graphics, even a minor mistake or omission would cause material losses to the clients. In order to assure excellent translation and satisfactory service, we strictly follow our quality control flow, which was set up when Sino-Vantage was first established and has been perfected step by step. In addition, we keep enhancing the training programs for our employees on their respective specialties, as well as the supervision procedures over translation work. We have the following procedures to assure superior quality of work:
Drafting
The project manager analyzes the documents before assigning appropriate translators based on the level of difficulty and specialty of the project. For large projects, a project team is usually assigned, with the project manager responsible for preparing glossaries, collecting references, and monitoring the whole process of translation to ensure the consistency of style and technical terms (there are also tools adding to the effect), and assure quality and timely completion.
Review
Upon completion of the first draft, a random selective review, usually about 10% of the translated work, is conducted so as to assess whether it is qualified. If the work is qualified, the revision will continue for the whole document till all mistakes are eliminated. Otherwise, the translation work together with editors' comments would go back to the original translator for reworking till it is fully satisfactory.
Desktop Publishing
The second draft is then passed to our DTP staff for layout and a crosscheck of items such as figures, dates, amounts and names to further ensure the accuracy and consistency of the work.
Final review
The project manager then reviews the complete project for final approval. And the translation will not be delivered until being approved by the final reviewer, the quality assurance manager.
